Certain windows greater than 2.0m from the outside ground level need to meet the National Construction Code (NCC) fall prevention requirements. This can be meet in two ways, either a hardware restrictor or a compliant fall prevention screen. A restrictor renders the window to only be operable to 125mm, where a Guardian fall prevention screen enables the full use of a window’s function.
Guardian fall prevention window screens are welded instead of being held together by screws or rivets. A weld is stronger than any screw or rivet, and it looks better too. With its seamless corners, Guardian is the best looking fall prevention screen on the market. The heavy duty aluminium frame and the marine grade stainless steel mesh are joined together in a mechanical and chemical bond. It is virtually unbreakable and provides complete insulation of the two metals eliminating a major cause of corrosion.
The black powder coated, 304 stainless steel features 1.62mm aperture and 42.5% open area, meaning Guardian provides excellent visibility and airflow. The 304 steel is .6mm diameter wire, has been tested to exceed an outward force of 250NM (25kg) as required by the National Construction Code for fall prevention, meaning your windows will not require any mechanical restriction, and you can open your windows fully to enjoy the breeze.
