Situated in one of Melbourne’s most desirable suburbs, Mazzei’s Dendy St project is designed to harmonise with its prestigious Brighton East surrounds. From the outside, it does just that, with a façade that complements the area’s aesthetic and teases the wonders within.

The first impression of the house is one of natural light and serenity. This is achieved through a custom configuration offloor-to-ceilingQuantum windows and doors, which create a real sense of openness and connection to the outdoors in every space. Despite the openness of the project, Mazzei still achieved intimate spaces through smart design. A striking example of this is the sunken lounge room. This unique and stylish space offers a secluded spot to unwind and enjoy views out to the immaculately landscaped garden and swimming pool. A primarily black and white palette creates a sophisticated and moody space, which is lightened by a touch of tan in the upholstery of the custom-made seating. The area achieves a feeling of both intimacy and openness thanks to the Quantum windows wrapping around the edges.

"It’s the kind of space where you just want to crack open a bottle of wine and unwind."

Zeb Woodhatch, Director, Mazzei.

Allowing sea breezes to breathe life into the coastal home was a must, so Breezway louvre windows sit alongside the Quantum range to complement the design and add some welcome ventilation.

The centrepiece of the home is the open living area, which is functional as well as striking. The lounge teases days of relaxation in the sun, and the dining area promises memorable nights of entertaining with the pristine pool and garden as a backdrop. Further adding to the ample ventilation are Aneeta sashless windows, which offer easy-to-open functionality and uninterrupted views of the landscaped garden.

Expanding this living area even further is as simple as sliding open the Quantum stacking doors to the garden, which is a private haven befitting of the grand interior. The combination of a spotless terrace, barbecue area and inviting pool makes it hard to not daydream about a life filled with celebration, relaxation and sea breezes.

Mazzei made full use of Trend’s Textura finishes to create a sense of cohesion in their design. The thick, matt black frames of the Quantum doors and windows enhance the interior’s neutral palette, while the sheer amount of sunlight cascading into the home illuminates and enhances the attention to detail in their approach.

“The amount of light lets everything else take centre stage, and that’s what windows should do: highlight the key areas of the house and tie everything together.”

Zeb Woodhatch, Director, Mazzei.
