Trend Head Office - Girraween

Company History

Trend Windows & Doors Pty Ltd was formed in July 1968 by a partnership that included the current Chairman, Don Summergreene at the present head office site at Girraween NSW, manufacturing Western Red Cedar windows and doors.

Trend began manufacturing basic aluminium-sliding windows five years later to accommodate the rising demand in aluminium products. Trend was one of the first window manufacturers to later assemble aluminium double hung and awning windows, and the first company to manufacture an individually glazed aluminium window with its patented Ovolo Glazing System.

Trend expanded its manufacturing operations in the early 1970's to Tamworth, Canberra, Newcastle, Victoria, Queensland and finally South Australia. From this time, until the early 1990's, the company was acquired by number of owners including Rio Tinto. In 1993, Trend purchased Vincent Windows, a large Sydney competitor to further its market penetration. In 1994 James Hardie acquired Trend as part of its Building Products Group and further expanded the business with the purchases of Crestlite and Framex.

Significant investment in the development of the revolutionary new Quantum product range was undertaken in the late 1990's, which resulted in the Quantum XP range of products, that now are at the forefront of development.

In late 2001, a consortium led by the current Chief Executive Officer, Colin Forster and Crescent Capital Partners Ltd acquired Trend and the company was re-branded with the familiar Trend name but with a new identity.

In 2006, Trend Windows & Doors Pty Ltd is a privately owned Australian manufacturing company, producing aluminium, timber and uPVC windows and doors under the brand names of Trend, Quantum XP Windows, Crestlite, Synergy uPVC, Thermashield Energy Efficient Products and Xtreme Bushfire Protection Windows & Doors.

Trend employs more than 600 people across Australia whose significant wealth of experience makes it the right decision when choosing windows and doors.
